Like the little stream
Making its way
Through the mossy crevices
I, too, quietly
Turn clear and transparent.

Nature-based psychotherapy and mentoring is an approach to growth and development that incorporates present-moment awareness and learning to shape experience, self, and relationships in a more skillful way. This perspective is rooted in an appreciation and respect for the interdependence of life and relationships, cultivating a sense of connection and well being through sensory interaction with the natural world and its principles. The orientation of this approach is a “health” perspective, using the foreground “problems” of daily living to develop a healthier and more pleasant way of being in the world. Through a combination of conversation, lifestyle assessment, movement awareness, mindfulness practice, and nature exploration, clients begin to learn to move more skillfully with the natural ups and downs of life.

I work with adults, teens, children, families, couples, and groups. I am a longtime nature mentor, practitioner of mindfulness meditation approaches, and student of Buddhist Psychology.  I completed my undergraduate studies at Hampshire College in 2001, concentrating in Environmental Studies and Buddhist Psychology. I received a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2012 from Union Institute & University and received my license as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Vermont in 2015. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicaid insurances, and also offer a private pay option.
